The seminar
examines the impact of taxation on key corporate decisions. It focuses on
investment, financing, and legal form decisions under different tax frameworks.
In particular, the course analyzes how taxes affect the net present value of
investments in different decision-making contexts. Selected tax provisions are
examined with regard to their incentive and distortion effects.
Students are
able to systematically analyze and evaluate the impact of taxation on corporate
decisions. They can integrate tax effects into investment and financial
decision models and assess their impact on net present value. In addition, they
are capable of critically evaluating the effects of specific tax provisions
with regard to economic incentives.
