Learning Objectives / Competencies:
After completing the module, students are able to develop a (digital, innovative, green) future concept for a company. The research period of several months gives a student the opportunity to qualify in the field of future or innovation consulting for companies by acquiring literary knowledge of ideas and instruments of future management and building an agile future scenario for your selected company from a comparative analysis of international trends (along an independently developed vision). This should enable students to create and communicate "future for companies" themselves in a methodical (systematic) and imaginative (innovative) way.
- Professional competence:
- Applied Intrapreneurship: A (green/sustainable/digital) innovation and future concept for the company
- Definition of new visions, strategies, structures, cultures for a "company of the future"
- Focusing the intrapreneurship, the internal perspective, i.e. on strategy, structure, culture (and not products and services) of a company
- New organizational and leadership or new work models of a company
- Methodological competence:
- Trend research and trend radar design
- Scenario design along Burke & Litwin (Intrapreneurship 2.0)
- Maturity modeling (formulation of phases, vision, measures, trends)
- Quantitative research methodology (based on online software)
- Social competence:
- In the context of online coaching of individual researchers (teams) with the module leader(s).
- In the context of enabling tandems for mutual (supportive) reflection
- In the context of fostering the exchange with the management or executives in a company to build up a cooperation project "Future"
- Self-competence: Strategy thinking about concept formulation taking into account own ideas: Building a strategically thought-out and independently developed concept (based on Inspection, Innovation, Investigation, Implementation)
Contents:
- On the importance of future management for companies (Strengths, Opportunities)
- Selection of a company and cooperation with this company to work on and develop future measures or a "Future-Foresight-Scenario".
- Integration of employees from the selected company to evaluate and develop the "Future-Foresight-Scenario".
- Understanding of the requirements for visioning (Understanding Vision)
- Development of a coherent future concept based on several innovation/future measures (steps)
- Presentation of efficiency and resources to implement a future concept
- Examination of the extent to which sustainable (ecological, green, health-promoting) innovation drivers (trends) are (should be) taken into account in scenarios / visions
Teaching and learning methods:
- The research work ("Research Study") focuses on a comprehensive empirical investigation in a company (field) for which the future scenario is developed: This quantitative investigation comprises about 60% of the scope (methodology, research field, questionnaire, evaluation, assessment) of the entire research study.
- The research work is based on an "Operational Maturity Model" (explorative scenario method) in which selected tools or measures (and how they work) are presented via specific maturity phases, which can be implemented step-by-step (one after the other) over an approximately 5-year company period to achieve the vision.
Value of the grade in the final grade of the master's degree (master's certificate): 6 / 90
