Content
After
 successful completion of this module, students will be able to use 
subject-specific terminology in order to analyze and participate in 
macroeconomic discourse at an appropriate level in English for academic 
study and international business practice. They will also be able to 
research, analyze and discuss reliable digital English-language content 
independently and efficiently. Furthermore, as this module deepens 
knowledge of international economies and business practices, it serves 
as a foundation for further study in intercultural communication.
Learning Outcomes and skills
Professional competencesStudents
 will gain a deeper understanding of global economic developments and 
improve their subject-specific communication skills in English by 
discussing and exploring current content on relevant topics, such as 
regional economic trends, internatonal economic relations and labour 
markets. They will gain confidence in their professional and academic 
English-language communication skills for work and study.
Technical competencesStudents
 will be familiarized with reliable sources and deepen their 
knowledge of methods, analysis and communication styles in English in 
the field of macroeconomics. By completing tailored language development
 activities for each topic, guided self-study and research, they will be able to work independently with authentic, subject-specific
English-language content. With in-class discussion and group work, 
students will improve their oral communication skills and will be able 
to present, articulate and summarize subject related concepts and 
content appropriately and accurately in English. 
Social competencesThe
 module serves to prepare students for international business practice 
and after successful completion, students will be able to communicate 
appropriately and competently about macroeconomic topics in English. With guided self-study of subject-specific content, students are familiarized with reliable international sources 
and organizations, and will improve their own English communication
 skills in different subject-specific styles and formats. Through guided
 research and work on macroeconomic topics in an international context, 
students will deepen their knowledge of regional and global economies 
for synergetic intercultural collaboration in real life business 
practice.
Personal competences
Students
 are facilitated to research, analyse, reproduce, discuss and summarize 
macroeconomic content independently and at an appropriate level for study
 and work in English. They will be able to reflect on and assess their 
language skills at all levels and develop these independently. They 
will also be familiarized with different macroeconomic topics in 
international regions and will have a deeper understanding of global 
developments and intercultural approaches.
