I2S-Idea-to-Solution is a program designed to simultaneously convey technical content and promote entrepreneurial thinking and action. The course is interdisciplinary, bringing together students from the Faculty of Business Administration, the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, and the Faculty of Design to collaboratively work on a specific project in mixed groups. The process begins with a concrete product idea, progresses through the development of a business model, and culminates in preparation for a potential business launch. This approach provides students with a comprehensive perspective on the product development process, fosters an understanding of interdisciplinary connections, encourages value-oriented teamwork, and enables both strategic and operational entrepreneurial thinking and action.
What Topics Will You Encounter?
- Development of a strategic business concept through a specific, practical project
- Definition of a business model
- Fundamentals of business planning, including key elements such as target group definition, market and competition analysis, business model design, marketing mix, and revenue and profit planning
Seminar Concept
The seminar is designed to encourage students to independently develop a solution concept for the given task. In this framework, the instructors primarily act as coaches, guiding the teams toward their solutions. To provide clear guidance and expectations for deliverables, a structured project outline with predefined milestones and associated work packages will be provided. Additionally, theoretical components will supply the necessary knowledge base. A key focus will be on conveying a holistic understanding and illustrating interdisciplinary connections.
The broad and exciting project topic has not yet been finalized but will be announced before the start of the course. We look forward to your participation!
