Learning Objectives / Competencies:
Upon completing this module, students will be
able to comprehend, evaluate, and critically analyze fundamental concepts and
interrelations in business administration. They will acquire the skills to
describe and assess basic business operations concerning structure,
organization, and processes within economic enterprises. Through
product-specific case studies, students will learn to utilize and apply
business administration models and methods. The seminar-based format of the
course enables students to engage in discussions on business-related issues and
to develop, articulate, and defend their own positions.
Content:
- Case Study in Marketing Module: Competitor analysis, price analysis, marketing
mix, product positioning, trend analysis, competitor evaluation, consumer
analysis.
- Case Study in Supply Chain Module: Analysis of procurement, production, and
distribution material flows, objectives of supply chain management, transport,
handling, and storage processes in the supply chain, analysis of freight
carriers, freight cost calculation.
- Case Study in Sourcing Module: Procurement sources and objects, purchasing
strategies, procurement portfolio, category management, procurement market
analysis, risk analysis.
Applied Business Administration Methods:
- Models and Methods of Analysis (Research and
Analytical Models):
- Instruction and application of basic business models such as SWOT analysis,
portfolio matrix, benchmarking, Porter’s Five Forces model, and supply network
models.
- Instruction and analysis of business metrics such as equity ratio,
liquidity, cash flow, and return on investment.
Quantitative-Empirical Methods (Comparative –
statistical, mathematical methods, data analysis):
Analysis of quantitatively collected business
metrics (e.g., industry-specific metrics, frequency distributions, etc.).
Qualitative-Interpretive Methods (Expert
interviews, surveys, standardized assessments):
Utilization and interpretation of case studies,
expert opinions, and corporate documents.
Teaching and Learning Methods:
Simulation games, case study-oriented and active
learning, group presentations of work results with performance feedback.
